Artistic statement

few words of my background . . .

My track record working with arts starts in theatre in town of Kemi in 1981.  In high school we visited brand new town theatre in Kemi. During the theatre visit I realized I wanted to do things in this building, with this people. Theatre was and still is the magic box where everything is possible, in auditorium the audience is experiencing the same dream together. That dreamy, unrealistic world and deeper mental levels and thoughts are my source of energy.

Being in stage as actor was not so interesting than being "in the curtains" manipulating the play. I soon realized that working with the set, sound and light and even directing is my thing. You work with the whole art work, you work with themes, you work with dream itself and you hope the spectators will dream something together.

At the same time I was working as portier in local non-commercial cinema runned by city cultural office. That was my first steps into art of cinema. Something different could be seen in screen. After moving to Helsinki in mid 80'ies I continued portier work in finnish film archive theatre. That was my high school to art of cinema. Years later, after learning how lighting is done I worked in as electrician in films among the other works related to light.

Before all that we founded a punk band in 1979 which we has anything to do with art, more like giving finger to everything related to esthablisment. After years I do realize to have this "hack the system" kind of thoughts, heritage to early years and punk movement attitude.

Our main energy source is the Sun. It is colossal plasma furnace producing light and heat endlessly. The Earth is circulating the Sun like perpetual machine

After stroke, values of my life changed big time. Blood was not circulating in my head properly for a while and I got brain damage causing right side of my body to paralyzed for few months. I felt I got a second change.

In sauna you can get close to the sun same goes to neon. Laser has also somewhat special feeling in it.

Immaterial elements and matters goes straight to nerve system

One of my latest reincarnation plan is to return as neon gas and be part of universal plasma. Or perhaps I'll exist as my digital twin: a single photon pixel, endlessly hurdling through the scene, driven by the Monte Carlo method.

I estimate that next thing in nostalgia loop will be neon lights. It will be same kind of renaissance as LP records or C-cassettes are for the music.
